Known as one of the most demanding and rewarding events on the Aotearoa trail running calendar, the Ring Of Fire takes you on a full circumnavigation of the formidable Mount Ruapehu. It’s a true test of endurance – physically, mentally, and spiritually – with rugged alpine terrain, high altitude, and vast volcanic landscapes that will challenge and inspire every step of the way.

Runners traverse a wild mix of desert plateaus, scoria and lava fields, native bush, tussock-covered ridgelines, and clear mountain streams. The journey is tough and beautiful, with big climbs and even bigger views across one of our most treasured landscapes.
